You can help shape the next chapter in an autistic student's life, their college life with a donation.
IAmCollegeLife was Born with love
IAmCollegeLife has been proudly serving autistic students by preparing them for college and campus life since 2018. We offer transition workshops and activities to inspire improved independence and to grow the number of autistic students who make it to college by working with middle and high school students on the Autistic Spectrum as well as their concerned parents in order to give them a chance at being their authentic selves. Our educational mini-workshops and activities are ongoing throughout the year, and are absolutely free to the college bound students and their parents need only register with us.
What we are Trying to Solve
At IAmCollegeLife, we seek to bridge the gap between high school and postsecondary education by imparting autistic children with life skills; tools which will enable them to thrive while living in campus. These include interpersonal skills necessary to work and relate with other people, decision making which will help them understand problems and learn how to address them, critical thinking which will enable them to think differently and analyze situations, self-awareness for them to better understand themselves and feel for others, and assertiveness so that they can stand up for themselves. We also focus on themes such as being safe on campus, dating and relationships, time management, and cooking classes among others.
We Need Your Help.
However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have cancelled all our mini-workshops for the year over our concern for the health and safety of our members. We plan to resume in 2021 better and stronger than ever as we continue to empower, encourage and challenge people by creating awareness while giving autistic children a chance at a normal life.
We also plan to secure specialists and behavioral therapists for our next workshops, and hope to give away a scholarship in line with our commitment to celebrate higher education. In order to accomplish these future projects, we need your kind assistance which will go towards giving our children the chance they deserve to be themselves.
Please also share our campaign with friends and family to help us reach our goal.
Thanks you in advance.
