Give your child the tools to succeed!

Living independently for the first time can

be overwhelming for autistic students. We

recognize that most students have the

desire to live on their own, but do not have the support necessary to experience success. Let us be that support.

Our Learn & Lunch transition program

IAmCollegeLife Inc. celebrates higher education by preparing autistic students for campus life. The transition from high school to college is a challenging one for all students, and autistic students who are fully capable academically – with average and even above average intelligence – often struggle with socialization and newfound independence, which can make this transition an even more difficult one.

It's a tough time for parents, too – sometimes it's even harder for parents than autistic students. This is typically the first time in their lives that parents are allowing their children this level of independence, and many parents wonder if they have made the right choice letting their child go away for college.

At IAmCollegeLife Inc. we offer learn & lunch to offer support to autistic students and their parents to help ease the transition to campus life. Autistic students tend to struggle in executive functions, time management, social pressures, increased school workload, and other life skills.

Our Learn & Lunch is a comprehensive transition program for middle & high school students on the Autism Spectrum. The program is designed to maximize autistic students’ potential as they live and learn on college campuses, by providing free classes to help with organizational skills, time management, independent living skills, self-control, social skills training, and self-advocacy.

Each class is facilitated by a professional

  • All classes are free for registered autistic students

  • Program helps autistic students develop a stronger sense of social interaction, and use strategies that will enhance student’s ability to cope with campus life and understand social relationships.

  • Program will further aid students with acquiring independence, helping them develop the necessary everyday skills they need to live in a residence hall. In addition, they will help students understand campus culture.

  • Program will help students acquire skills for self-advocacy, daily living, and social interactions that will aid their future as an independent adult on college campuses.

What sets our program apart from other programs is the accessibility and less formal structure for the students. As an incentive, we provide lite lunch for the autistic students. If this is not feasible or they are picky eaters, you can always bring their own lunch during the session. Learn & lunch is an easy way to develop and motivate autistic students while creating a place of communication, collaboration and learning.
